Pros and cons of bottle and breast feeding

Bottle

Pros
  • The responsibility for feeds can be evenly divided between yourself and your partner. This is particularly useful when you are back at work
  • Sharing the feeding can also mean that fathers enjoy a close bond with babies from the time that they are born, although of course there are many other ways that fathers can become involved if their partners are breastfeeding
  • Some mothers find the prospect of breastfeeding after having ‘shared’ their body with the baby for nine months of pregnancy, just too much. They want to have their
body back to themselves as soon as possible
Cons

  • Infant milk is not as nutritionally complete as breast milk. Although manufacturers are constantly modifying infant milk so it resembles breast milk as closely as possible, there is no doubt that it is an inferior product, as it cannot reproduce the living antibodies and antibacterial properties which protect the baby against infection
  • Infant milk is quite expensive. Not only do you have to buy tins of formula, but you
also need bottles, teats, and sterilising equipment
  • Cleaning and sterilising bottles is fiddly and time consuming
Breast

Pros
  • Protects against ear infections, colds, and viruses: If the child does have any of the above, the severity will most likely be lessened because of the protection from the breastmilk
  • Helps brain to grow and develop
  • Less learning and behavior difficulties
  • Less diaper rash and other skin problems
Cons

  • Nursing is definitely time-consuming: Newborn babies typically feed every 2 to 3 hours during the day and may awaken frequently at night.
  • If someone else wants to feed the baby with a bottle of breast milk the mother still has to pump.
  • Breastfeeding takes a lot of energy for your body to make milk, so the mother can often feel quite fatigued.

I pick bottle feeding because Im a male  and  single dad. And I pick this to also have a bonding with my kid
